We need each other.
Our planet is on fire and we are “too busy” to inquire into, discover and address the root causes. In fact, the crisis we are facing is predominantly due to our ego-centric relationship to Nature and life. What we are missing is an honest and courageous look at our tendency “to do, to fix,” with little or no reflection on the results or consideration for the bigger picture. Hence, we continue to operate in our siloed bubbles, focusing on what’s in front of our faces, without considering the ways our efforts affect the fragile eco-system we are an integral part of. Our good and laudable intentions are blinded by our hubris, which prevents us from seeing and respecting the complex needs that must be simultaneously addressed to bring balance. No matter how brilliant and experienced we may be, and how wonderful our new initiatives are, the breadth and scale of the challenges facing us far surpasses our individual solutions.
This moment requires a radical and outrageous approach: a shift toward REAL cooperation, integrating our diverse experiences, talents and resources as never before.
We don't know how to work together!
The root causes of our predicament can be found in the way the human brain has evolved. As animals, we evolved emotional and psychological systems that cause us to respond to the slightest conflict or challenge to our self-image as a direct threat to our very survival. These feelings of threat and disconnectedness are not only present between different religions, countries, socio-economic groups, etc, but between family members, colleagues, and even within ourselves. Even though we have the capacity for higher reasoning, we consistently get hijacked by survival based fear. Which means our capacity to act rationally and with compassion is compromised by our unconscious and unexamined emotional world that drives most of our actions. The findings of brain science research that support this view are overwhelmingly clear.
Yet we still have not prioritized the development of an educational system nor an effective toolset that can reduce our irrational fears and expand our loving kindness, our humanity.
We are further confounded by living in times where technology is accelerating much faster than our level of consciousness can responsibly manage.
Ironically, in a time of so much connectivity we are feeling more isolated, walking around with our eyes fixed on our “smart” phones, headphones in, or glued to our computers. While this level of connectivity offers potential for positive change, our primal drives are being reinforced with unexpected vengeance. Many of us find ourselves living in tribal echo chambers that reinforce our fears of the “other” and mercilessly push us into reactivity and conformity.
Is it any wonder why so many of us are in pain, feeling lonely, disconnected and disempowered?
We are disconnected from Nature and our nature.
We evolved from the earth, from the miracle that is Nature. We contain the miraculous within and are capable of wondrous creativity. Each of us has a unique gift and an extraordinary capacity for caring, cooperation, compassion and kindness. Yet our primal instincts and egos mostly keep us competitively working in silos, in conflict, and consuming at the detriment of our relationships to ourselves, each other and our planet. The society we live in today rewards us for maintaining these behaviors.
It’s time to consciously shift our values, connect to our outrageous potential and co-create a balanced and thriving world.
We can evolve by choice, not chance!
We believe we can change the world “out there” by investing in methods that radically shift our inner space: neurologically, emotionally and spiritually. Humanity needs to PAUSE, take a long honest look inward and see how our prevailing values and priorities maintain and perpetuate our divisiveness. We need to pursue an intentional upgrade in consciousness. Our current predicament challenges us to LEAP from our siloed competitive nature into our cooperative nature.
Only then can we fully tap into the creative force of Nature and manifest our individual and collective genius.
