The PJCC Allyship Cohort

The PJCC Allyship Cohort brings Jews and their friends into close relationships that sparks caring action. Themes have ranged from discussing and taking action on The American Jewish experience, Soviet era antisemitism and how it plays out today, media bias, the diversity of Jewish people, and more.

The first PJCC Allyship Cohort was held at the PJCC in Foster City, SF Bay Area, with more coming soon.

Over a 3 month period, 14 participants:

  • Built personal relationships
  • Received in-depth education to navigate the complex field of antisemitism and allyship
  • Defined action projects that allow them to express their learnings in the world
Case Study

After the 12 weeks cohort concluded, five working groups spawned to take action going forward, among them an “Allyship Podcast Club,” an interfaith bible study, as well as the SF Bay Area Allyship Community Initiative.

During the final round of reflections on how this cohort impacted everyone, one Jewish participant shared how afraid and mistrusting she was coming into the group, and how healing it was to experience caring non-Jews showing up and building an authentic relationship with her.
