Case Study
At a Baltimore screening of “Fried Chicken & Latkes,” a Black woman and a Jewish man engaged in dialogue about growing up in a Baltimore neighborhood that had once been predominantly Jewish, inheriting the architecture and echoes of a community she never fully knew. He talked about his parents leaving that same neighborhood, and the guilt and grief that never quite left the family.
They stayed long after the room emptied, still talking. The film screening stirred conversations that have been waiting, sometimes for decades, for the right room to begin.
